In July 2016, the Kashiwa Mobility Support Robot Demonstration Promotion Council (Kashiwa City, Kashiwanoha Urban Design Centre, Kashiwanoha Segway Club, Chiba University Field Science Centre for Environment and Health and others) started public road trials of Segway vehicles in the Kashiwanoha Campus area in Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture. The Segway public road trials started in July 2016.
The Kashiwa ITS Promotion Council is participating as an advisor.
